Barberry is a very tasty fruit that has a tart taste and most of the time is used in dried form. Ninety five percent of the world’s barberry is planted and harvested in Iran.

Barberry, as a herbal remedy ,‌ has great importance because it eliminates liver problems, purify the blood and it has high potential of making liver drugs. Barberry has also been introduced in the treatment of certain diseases, including fever, malaise, excessive thirst, stomach and liver problems, and organ transplantation. In Iran, it is consumed with rice and in the form of a syrup with cool water.

Natural crimson dried Barberries. Iranian Seedless Barberries (B. vulgaris) are the mature fruits of a shrub of which many species grow wild throughout the temperate regions. Contains no genetically modifies organisms.
​Iranian Barberries are processed and offered in two types:
Puffy Type: Shade dried – New crop available from March
Anari Type: Sun dried – New crop available from November.

Characteristics

Colour: Characteristically red, From coral to deep crimson.
Appearance: Composed of barberry with general appearance of the representative type.
Smell/Taste: Typical Barberry sour taste and smell / sour  natural fruit flavor.
Consistency: Firm, non-sticky, free flowing.
